Born on 01/03/1962 (format : day/month/year)

Biography :

Loumia Hiridjee (b.March 1, 1962 -died November 26, 2008), French of Malgache origin was the founder of French underwear brand Princess Tam Tam.

Loumia Hiridjee was born in Antananarivo, Madagascar, in 1962 and grew up in a family of well-off Indian traders. In 1972 she joined her sister in Paris, heading for boarding school. For her, France was then "a cultural cold shower and a hell of a thermal shock". But Loumia soon adapted and when she established Princesse Tam Tam (from the title of a film with Josephine Baker), she was bold enough to shake up the conventions of traditional lingerie. With her products, bright colours and prints are given full rein, feeding on the current climate and fashion trends in the French capital.

She was killed with her husband Mourad Armasy in the armed attack by terrorists in Mumbai on 27 November 2008

Mother of three children, Loumia divided her time between her home in the very chic 7th arrondissement of Paris and her offices in suburban Ivry. In 1994 she was awarded the "Manager of the Year" Prize, and in 2006 she was hailed lingerie designer of the year; her brand, bought out by a Japanese group in 2005, is established in over 60 countries.
