Biography of Nezha HAYATMorocco > Finance : Nezha HAYAT
Nezha Hayat is a main board director of the Société Générale Marocaine de Banques, with special responsibility for the private and institutional management core business. She is the first woman ever to achieve this level of operational responsibility in any Moroccan bank. Nezha Hayat is multilingual in Arabic, French, English and Spanish, and joined Société Générale in Casablanca in 1995 as part of the stock market restructuring. She is also a founder member and Vice-Chair of AFEM (the Moroccan Association of Female Company Senior Executives).
"I was the fist woman to join the board of a bank in Morocco. This is thanks to Société Générale, but also because Morocco has changed. I enjoy change, and I was involved in the development of the Moroccan stock market. The Casablanca stock exchange is not speculator oriented, but more for investors. Without stock exchange modernisation Morocco would not be where it is today."
