Mohammad Omar Khalil born January 8, 1936 is a Sudanese artist.
Born in Burri, Sudan, in 1936, Moh'd Omar Khalil studied at the School of Fine& Applied Arts in Khartoum in 1959 and won a Sudanese Government Scholarshipto study at the Art Academy in Florence, Italy in 1963. He moved since to the US where he has taught at New York University, Columbia University, Parsons Schoolof Design and Pratt Institute. He also works as a master printer for several New York
galleries. Recent exhibitions include the Smithsonian Institution, Skoto Gallery, NY;
Asilah Gallery, Morrocco; and GalerieClaude Lemand, Paris.
He lives and works in New York City.
His work is included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn
Museum, Smithsonian Institution, Library of Congress and many private
collections throughout the world.
He is the recipient of the Leo Meissner Prize for Printmaking, National Academy;
1st Prize, Inter-Biennial of Cairo; and the Bronze Prize, Osaka Triennial, Osaka, Japan.
